About Kalia

Since the mid-1980s I’ve been part of the vibrant Bay Area traditional dance community. While it was Irish ceilidh dancing at the Starry Plough pub in Berkeley, CA that first drew me in, at one time or another I’ve performed or taught morris dancing, longsword, rapper sword, English and American clogging, and called for English country, contra, and family dances. All of these sub-communities have their own joys and quirks, and my dancing life has been a rich and full one.

If you’d like to know more about these different dance forms, you can visit my dance links page to learn more.

If you’re a dance organizer or camp programmer and you’re curious about the sorts of workshops I offer, please contact me and I’d be happy to send you a list of topics that might be appropriate for your event.
